‘Beauty And The Beast’ Movie 2017: Belle Takes Her Father’s Place As The Beast’s Prisoner In Final Trailer [VIDEO]
A classic Disney film will soon air in theatres. The final trailer of “Beauty And The Beast” released Monday night during an episode of ABC reality series “The Bachelor” and it is every bit as enchanting as the traditional tale.
“My dear Belle,” Belle’s (Emma Watson) father Maurice (Kevin Kline) says in the video, “you’re so ahead of your time. This is a small village and it’s small-minded as well. But small also means safe.”
The trailer shows Belle reading books and meeting Gatson (Luke Evans) who can’t help complimenting himself ever so often.
Then, the video shows a scene of Maurice being chased by wolves before he meets the Beast (Dan Stevens). The Beast concludes that he is a thief and locks him up. Belle learns that her father is missing and tracks him down to the Beast’s castle. She meets him and gasps at his hideous countenance.
Belle then replaces her father as the Beast’s prisoner. “I will escape I promise,” she tells him before locking herself up. It isn’t long before she meets the castle’s jovial inhabitants – Lumiere (Ewan McGregor), Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson), Cogsworth (Ian McKellen).
Watson’s bibliophile character discovers a rose in the castle in which the petals fall periodically. When all the petals have fallen, the Beast will remain a Beast forever.
However, an incident in which Stevens’ character gets injured sparks a friendship between him and Belle. She nurses him back to health and soon they form a connection. Of course, as Disney fans know all too well, Belle holds the key to breaking the Beast’s curse. They soon fall in love.
The movie is directed by Bill Condon and the screenplay is penned by Stephen Chbosky and Evan Spiliotopoulos.
“Beauty And The Beast” releases in theatres on March 17.
