As of late, details about “Ocean’s 8” are still being kept under wraps, but according to Entertainment Weekly, the eight women will be staging a heist at the MET Gala. Vogue’s Anna Wintour, Zac Pose and Derek Blasberg are all expected to make a cameo in the film.
Other high-profile celebrities making a cameo include Kim Kardashian and her half-sister, Kendall Jenner. According to Yahoo, Dakota Fanning, Katie Holmes, Olivia Munn, James Corden, Richard Armitage and Matt Damon will also make a special appearance in the movie.
Meanwhile, “Ocean’s 8” will follow the story of Debbie Ocean (Bullock), a con artist who belongs to the controversial Ocean clan. She will be gathering a motley crew to help execute her plan to rob those attending the MET Gala. Debbie will be working closely with Lou (Blanchett), Nine Ball (Rihanna), Constance (Awkwafina), Rose (Bonham-Carter), Amita (Kaling), Daphne (Hathaway) and Tammy (Paulson).
Filming for “Ocean’s 8” commenced in New York last month. Director Gary Ross is taking over the production following Steven Soderbergh’s exit from the franchise.
“Ocean’s 8” is the all-female spinoff of the hit 2000 film “Ocean’s Eleven,” which starred Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Damon. Clooney played the role of Danny Ocean, Debbie’s older brother. Pitt played the role of Rusty Ryan, while Damon played Linus Caldwell.
“Ocean’s 8” is slated to hit theaters in the United States on June 8, 2018
