European League Championship Series team Giants Gaming is in the process of finalizing agreements with former Nerv jungler Jonas “Memento” Elmarghichi and former Iguana Esports AD carry Martin “HeaQ” Kordmaa to fill the vacant spots in their League of Legends lineup, sources close to the team and both players tell ESPN.
Memento and HeaQ join the team after Giants competed at Intel Extreme Masters Gyeonggi in South Korea in December. There, the team used Vitality substitute jungler Kim “Mightybear” Min-su as a temporary stand-in and AD carry Elias “Upset” Lipp, who left the team to join FC Schalke 04, sources say.
The two players come as the second and third addition to the Giants lineup during the offseason. The team added top laner Olof “Flaxxish” Medin in December in addition to retaining their mid laner Na “NighT” Gun-woo and support Morgan “Hustlin” Granberg from its 2016 roster.
The restructuring of Giants Gaming comes after a fifth-sixth finsh in the European League Championship Series last summer. The team will begin competing on Jan. 19, when the EU LCS begins.
